The Rules & Regulations of the LRC are hereby laid down for the strict adherence of the users. Any users found not adhering to the rules & regulations of the LRC shall be barred from membership of the LRC.

General Guidelines [Rules and Regulations]

v  Entry to LRC will be restricted to those without a valid Membership card/ID.

v  Readers should maintain peace in the library and should not disturb other users in any way.

v  While entering the Resource Center, readers should leave their personal belongings, such as bags, briefcase, camera, mobiles and parcels outside the library.

v  Readers entering the library & Resource Center should allow the library/security staff to examine the Membership card/ID.

v  Readers should not leave their important materials (like chargers, cameras, laptops, hard disk, own academic work etc.) unattended in the library, for any loss of these item Library shall not be responsible.

v  Food items are strictly prohibited inside the library.

v  Readers should not deface, mark, cut, mutilate, or damage the resource center materials in any way. If anyone is found doing so, he/she will be charged full replacement cost of the material along with a fine as suggested by the Library Advisory Committee (LAC)

v  Photocopying from archival material is strictly restricted. Photocopies from bound material are discouraged as it damages the spine of the book. However, for academic and research purposes, Photocopy/Photography is permitted on duly signed copyright form. Copyright form is available at the circulation desk.

v  Readers leaving the library should allow the Resource Center / security staff to examine their personal belongings.

v  Patrons should mandatorily obtain NO DUES from the library on completion of respective courses or during exiting the institute.

Guidelines for Issue/Return

v  Institute ID Card is the Library Membership Card for all patrons.

v  Membership card/ID is to be produced at the circulation counter for issue/return of materials. Members are requested to retain the membership card/ID carefully. In case of loss or renewal of membership card/ID, contact Academic Dept. to issue a new membership card/ID.

v  Sub lending of Library Resource Center material is strictly prohibited.

v  The borrower may return or renew the book on or before the due date. For renewing, the physical book is to be presented at the counter. Renewal is not permitted if reserved by any other member.

v  The Library & Resource Center reserves the right to recall material from the members even before the due date without assigning any reason.

v  A borrower going on any kind of long leave will have to return all borrowed material before leaving the campus.

v  Materials required for long leave purpose should be accordingly issued on the last working day of the concerned patron. (Semester Holidays, Internship Period) are considered as long leave.

Loss of Library Resource Material

v  For the loss of material, the person is responsible whom so ever has issued the material.

v  In case of loss of books/AV and any other materials which is available in the market the member will have to replace the same or to pay the double the market cost (Equivalent to Rupees value, in case of foreign currency price). In the case of out-of-print book/or any other material is not available in the market, a member will have to pay three times the original purchased price (Equivalent to Indian rupees value, or the value decided by the Library Resource Center Panel as the case may be).

Fine & Borrowing Privileges

v  Members are expected to return the issued items within the due date. If failing, the fine as per the rules mentioned below is to be paid.

v  Accumulated fine will be recovered at the time of No Dues clearance like for students from their Resource Center membership deposit and for faculty/staff from their claimed amount from the account department.

New Arrival

The books added in the Library Resource Center are on Display for a week. These books will not be issued for a week and after will be shelved for regular use. An e-mail notification is sent to the community when the New Arrival Books are displayed.

Copyright Restrictions

All users of the Library Resource Center resources must respect the copyright in works that are accessible through computers connected to IIMV and Libraries networks. No copyrighted work may be copied, published, disseminated, displayed, performed, or played without permission of the copyright holder except in accordance with fair use or licensed agreement. This includes all copyrighted material. IIMV may terminate the network access of the users who are found to have repeatedly infringed the copyright of others.
